Blog turns into a parked page.
Is this the end of blogging for domain name investor Sahar Sarid?
A reader tipped me off today that Conceptualist.com no longer resolves to his blog. Instead it points to a DomainSponsor parked page.
The page has one of those banners that says “This Domain is Not For Sale unless you know us”.
The mailing address for the privacy service on Conceptualist.com’s whois record changed earlier this year.
This all seems a bit odd to me, especially because Sahar has been vocal about parking his domains with a competitor to DomainSponsor.
He’s taken a couple “breaks” from business recently and has slowed down his blogging. I’ve reached out to him for comment and will update this post.

I guess you received the same email as me. I sent Sahar an email but it bounced (had his old email address). Strange that he took the site down with all the great insight and commentary… hopefully a nameserver issue.
Abdu says
According to DomainTools.com, the domain is on-hold.
Andrew Allemann says
@ Abdu – really? I don’t see that.
Abdu says
@Andrew – Email sent with screenshot.
David J Castello says
Sahar would be the first to tell you it’s a concept 🙂
James says
Times have been very tough for many of us.

Andrew Allemann says
Thanks guys, you’re right about it being on hold.
Jamie says
Also, the domain doesn’t resolve without www.
Andrew Allemann says
Strike that, it appears to have just changed status back to registered.
Andrew Allemann says
…and the registrar shows a registrar expiration date of December 2011 I believe.
Michael says
Judging from some of his last posts, it seemed he had sort of “found himself” during his travels to Asia.
Maybe domaining is not part of the new Sahar.
Abdu says
FavoriteDomains.com also went down for a while now.
dcmike77 says
who the heck was reading his blog anyway?? He last few postings were just ramblings and nonsense
bernard says
Rather strange to disappear like that.
Domaining world is still very obscur.
John says
It looks like his Twitter.com/saharsarid has been removed or deleted…
John says
Somebody in South Florida better go over and bang on his door to check on him…

The domain world has been decimated for some time. Most of the weaker domain investors have left or are taking jobs as a second income source, although probably not Sahar. He probably just does not want to be involved with the drama of a collapsing industry.
It’s just a few of us now wandering in the desert. We have adapted like nomads eeking our life off the desolate land and taking advantage of the assets of those that are going under.
I don’t blame him for doing something else, if that is the case.

As my mother would say
“don’t you have anything constructive
to do?”
Sahar, our wishes are with you.
Hope to see you soon.
