Site for used airplanes uses a great domain name.
Looking for a used airplane? Here’s a site that just came out of beta: UsedAirplanes.com.
In a press release issued this week, UsedAirplanes Inc. explained:
As buyers and sellers flock to the internet and continue their mass exodus from print publications UsedAirplanes.com is well positioned online with the #1 domain name for buyers searching for used airplanes.
I don’t know much about the used airplane market, but the domain name is intuitive to me. An exact match search on Google’s external keyword tool shows 3,600 monthly searches for “used airplanes”. “Used aircraft” comes in a bit higher at 9,900 global searches. “Airplanes for sale” and “Aircraft for sale” score even higher.
The domain appears to have been acquired by the current owner about five years ago.
UsedAirplanes.com lists nearly 1,000 used Cessna and 500 Beechcraft aircraft, in addition to Bell, Learjet, Piper, and dozens more manufacturers.
So if you cashed out on your domain names and are looking to buy a 2007 Citation CJ3, SN 186, here’s one for $6.195 million.

It’s a great example of a nice, make sense domain name in use! I like the logo as well.

Wow. Great website. Extremely user friendly and fast. Whoever developed this is one smart cookie. Looks like he is a pro (read the bio’s on the About Us page and check out their sales girl – and her qualifications). I love this website – now all I need to do is sell my domain name and buy the Cessna Andrew recommended (of course I need one to sell first).
