A modular buildings company, a lumber business, and a social networking app bought domain names at Sedo.
There’s been a lot of chatter about Sedo’s sale of Lokal.com for €40,600. Some people think Lokalise, a localization and translation software company, bought the domain after raising $6 million in funding. Maybe so. But the turn means local in a handful of languages, so it could well be another company.
Here’s a list of some of the end user sales at Sedo this past week. You can see previous lists like this here.
Avelis.com $15,000 – Avelis SA is a modular buildings company.
HomeTrainer.de €9,188- This domain forwards to a company called Cabaneo that helps people invest in online companies. This might be a domain name for one of its businesses.
SpecialtyBuildingProducts.com $8,888 – US Lumber Group, a distributor of specialty building materials in the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic United States, bought this domain.
EvolutionCare.com $7,500 – Lasso Creative, an Australian web design and creative agency, bought this domain. It’s likely for a client.
ITBO.com $7,388 – This domain forwards to IT.bzob.de. This is the website for the IT department of the Oberbayern district in Germany. It provides basic information and communication technology services for official institutions.
Zement24.de €5,000 – Zement is German for cement, and German cement company Heidelberg Cement is the buyer.
Streo.com $5,000 – Stereo is an audio-based social networking app where you can join live discussions, have conversations with your friends or be matched with people who have similar interests. The company owns Stereo.com, so this was a defensive domain purchase.
Liquids.ch €3,990 – Forwards to E-zigarette.ch, a Swiss e-cigarette site that sells e-cigarette devices and other accessories related to vaping.
Eyecessories.com $2,999 – The Hillsinger Company, a U.S. consumer goods company that operates HilcoVision, bough this domain. Sounds like a brand for a vision product.
SmartSmiles.co.uk £2,500 – Smart Smiles A dental practice in the UK.
AguaCate.com $2,499 – This domain was bought by Worldwide Retailing LLC, in Colorado.
Observer says
Maybe Stereo.com wants it so that they can rebrand to “Streo” which is highly trademarkable.
Andrea says
AGUACATE means “Avocado” in Spanish. Great deal for the buyer! 😉
Andrea says
P.S.
The buyer of AGUACATE.com, Worldwide Retailing LLC is a domain investor, not an end user.

As far as I can see the company is owned by an Aaron Wilken, who was a host on Domain Sherpa in 2016: https://www.domainsherpa.com/tag/aaron-wilken/
The company was involved in the Jeff Baron’s lawsuit you may remember: http://domainnamewire.com/wp-content/txed-complaint-1.pdf
