There aren’t a lot of use cases for .Monster, but it could be kinda fun.
It might seem like a bad April Fools’ Day joke, but starting today you can actually register domain names that end in .Monster instead of .com.
Domain name registry XYZ launched the new domain extension in general availability today. That means anyone can register the domains on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrars charge about $10 a year for the domains.
Jobs website Monster.com originally acquired the .Monster top level domain name but decided to sell the domain to XYZ instead of using it to promote its own brand.
If your first idea for a .Monster domain is Lochness.Monster…sorry, you’re too late.
