NamesCon is just two months away. Learn about the upcoming show on this week’s podcast.
NamesCon returns for its second edition this January. Its inaugural show brought together 600 people from the domain name industry, making it the largest non-ICANN domain related event.
On this week’s podcast, co-producer Jothan Frakes explains what’s in store for January’s conference. If you haven’t bought your ticket yet, Jothan shares a $200 discount code during the show.
Also: John Oliver’s .NYC domain registrations, big Chinese sites go down, and .Club’s smart program.

NamesCon is an awesome show. For anyone who is thinking about hitting up a domain name conference to do some serious business, checkout Namescon. I was there last year and loved it!

In the interview, Jothan mentioned Jennifer Wolfe who said “50% of the top global brands applied for new gLTD” That’s impressive. However, what I’ve read so far is mainly withdrawal from brands such as Hilton, Heinz, Infosys, L’Oréal, and GM. I’d love to see you interview Jennifer to update us on brands’ adoption of .brand.
Andrew Allemann says
That’s a good point. I recall her slides last year had some brands on them that had already withdrawn.
