Owner says it received over 700,000 uniques over past month.
TorrentFreak has an interesting story about the Philippine country code domain name KAT.ph, which is currently for sale.
The U.S. Government attempted to seize the domain name that was used by KickAssTorrents but was never able to get the registry to cooperate. The domain name later expired and was auctioned off via Dynadot’s expired domain service.
Marshall Domains LTD bought the domain in the auction for about $9,000. But despite receiving over 700,000 unique visitors over the past month, the owner says they couldn’t monetize it because it’s blocked in Google’s ad feed.
According to the story, the owner was apparently reluctant to use zero-click monetization services. So he put the domain on the market and is asking for offers of at least $7,000.
The live stats for the domain show lots of traffic, but I question how it will monetize given what the users are looking for.
