Frakes to take leading role in industry association.

Jothan Frakes is the interim executive director of the DNA.
Jothan Frakes has been named the interim executive director of The Domain Name Association (DNA). The announcement was made during a session at the Merge conference in Orlando today.
Frakes has been involved in the domain name industry since the 1990s when he worked for what is now Verisign. He is particularly known for running domain name conferences including this week’s Merge conference.
DNA is an industry organization tasked with advocating for the use of domain names. Its members include Google, GoDaddy, Neustar and other members of the domain name ecosystem.
The organization was originally set up as new top level domain names rolled out and worked on creating awareness of the new domain options. But it’s not limited to new top level domain names.
“I’m thrilled to have this opportunity and challenge that the board of the Domain Name Association has put to me,” Frakes told DNW.
