Popular vibe coding platform acquires the matching .com domain name.

Earlier this month, vibe coding platform Lovable announced it raised a $400 million Series C funding round, valuing the company at a whopping $13.3 billion. It also made a big improvement to its web presence.
Despite all of its success, Lovable had an embarrassing problem.
When the founders created the company, they chose the available domain lovable.dev. That was no big deal at first, but it became a liability as the company grew.
Many people visiting the site accidentally typed in lovable.com. That wouldn’t be horrible if it just resolved to a parked page or something similar; people would figure it out and go to the correct domain.
But…Lovable.com was used by a lingerie store. So every time someone accidentally typed .com, they were forwarded to lovable.it, where they saw scantily clad women.
Given that the company says many employees at Fortune 500 companies use its platform, this could certainly create some awkward moments.
People blasted the company for being worth so much but not owning the .com. This month, it rectified that.
In an X post, it made light of its prior predicament, while disclosing that it now owns lovable.com.

Lovable’s domain acquisition took place sometime between August 5 and August 12. Perhaps we’ll find out how much it paid when the lingerie store’s owner, DBI Lux Holdings S.à r.l., makes its next financial filing, or when Lovable goes public.
