Afternic makes improvements to Request Price lander

Visitors can get prices instantly, and the domains (finally) resolve to GoDaddy’s primary domain.

Afternic has made a couple of enhancements to its “Request Price” lander over the past few weeks that warrant attention.

First, the platform has changed the end result of price requests for domain names under $10,000.

Before the change, users would enter their contact info and answer a few screening questions, and then see a message that a broker would be in touch.

Now, the final screen displays the price and gives the person the ability to buy the domain immediately:

The immediate purchase option does not currently display lease-to-own pricing.

Presumably, some people will buy the domain right away without a broker contacting them. But other people might not respond to brokers because they already know the domain is too expensive for them, and this won’t give the brokers a chance to explain why the domain is worth the price. It will be interesting for GoDaddy to measure the conversion rate before and after this change.

Another benefit of showing the price right away is that the landers now state that people can get the price instantly rather than the old messaging of 24 hours. This could increase the form’s conversion rate. (See top image above.)

The second change is that GoDaddy has moved the landers from Afternic.com to GoDaddy.com, which should help (or at least not hurt) conversions.
