.Com registry files for trademark that could be used for future advertising campaign.
It looks like .com registry Verisign (NASDAQ: VRSN) is ginning up a new advertising slogan.
This month, the company filed a trademark application with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office for “Where the World Finds You”.
It filed the trademark application on an intent-to-use basis, covering “Domain name registry services, namely, coordinating the registration of domain names for identification of users and internet protocol addresses; providing an online computer database in the field of domain name registration information.”
That field of use doesn’t help zero in on how Verisign will use it, but assuming this is a slogan for .com, I think it’s rather catchy. Business owners spend a lot of time trying to get people to find them. Verisign can pitch that .com is the most common domain, so the world finds you there.

So Verisign now owns wheretheworldfindsyou.com and lettheworldfindyou.com for their new slogan?
