Two-way agreement will syndicate listings between the two platforms.
Two years after announcing its Atom Distribution Network, domain sales platform Atom has landed a big fish.
Starting today, Atom is syndicating Premium and Plus listings to Dynadot. Dynadot has 11 million domains under management, and frequently ranks in the top 10 for new .com registrations each month.
I tested one of my Atom premium domains by searching for it at Dynadot, and it displayed my Atom price. This domain is also on Afternic; it’s not clear whether Dynadot’s choice to show the Atom listing was due to its lower price.
Domain registrars likely get a larger cut when they sell an Atom Premium domain than when they sell one from other marketplaces, because Atom charges a higher commission of up to 30%. (Its Plus listings carry a 15% commission, which is in line with or below that offered by Afternic and Sedo.)
In addition to showing Atom domains in the search path, Dynadot is also showing them on its marketplace.
As part of the deal, Dynadot is syndicating its marketplace domains to Atom when someone searches for the exact match domain at Atom.

Interestingly, the domain descriptions (if you use the Atom standard lander) are displayed at Dynadot as well.
Good move for Atom sellers in terms of reach. One side effect worth thinking about: more distribution means more buyers running their own checks on your domains. A name with reputation issues active VirusTotal flags, trademark conflicts that previously flew under the radar on one platform is now getting more eyeballs. That’s fine if the domain is clean, but it accelerates the feedback loop if it isn’t. Built dom-verify.com to help sellers audit that before listing, not after.
