Outage impacted all DNSSEC-signed domains.

Germany’s .de namespace experienced an outage this evening.
DENIC, the organization that manages .de domains, reported that all DNSSEC-signed domains were affected, resulting in accessibility errors.
The issue was resolved within a few hours, and all domains should now be working.
DNSSEC provides an added layer of security in the domain name system. With DNSSEC-signed domains, computers know that DNS answers are authentic. Without DNSSEC, someone could spoof a DNS response and send people to fake sites.
DENIC is hardly alone in experiencing issues related to DNSSEC.
.De is the second-most popular country code domain name, with 17.9 million registrations as of the end of Q1. It is second only to China’s .cn.
As of the time of publication, DENIC is still investigating the cause of the issue. Update: DENIC said the outage was due to problems with a scheduled key rollover. During this process, non-validatable signatures were generated and distributed.
