The group previously lost a cybersquatting dispute over the domain.

A company trying to resurrect the doomed Fyre Festival has won the domain FyreFestival.com in a court case after the registrant failed to respond.
LimeWr Fyre OU, which had its origins in the file-sharing business, negotiated rights to the Fyre Festival marks last year.
After acquiring the trademarks, LimeWr filed a UDRP cybersquatting case against the domain. It lost that case, with the panelist stating that it did not show the domain registrant lacked rights or legitimate interests in the case, and failed to show it was registered and used in bad faith.
So, it filed an in rem lawsuit in the U.S. District Court in the Eastern District of Virginia, where .com registry Verisign is located.
The in rem lawsuit (pdf) claimed the domain was “re-registered” on July 21, 2025. Whois shows an initial registration date in August 2017.
The court granted a motion for default judgment, and the domain was transferred to LimeWr during the past week.
Wiley Rein LLC filed the case, with Jason Schaeffer of Esqwire.com contributing. Schaeffer represented the company in the UDRP.
