It’s the largest publicly disclosed domain sale of the year.
Workspace Furniture Industry, a Dubai-based company that designs and sells modern office furniture, has acquired the domain name workspace.com for $1.45 million.
The company announced the purchase on its website at the end of January, one day after its Escrow.com transaction for the domain was completed.
While the announcement didn’t include the price, domain broker Richard Coogan, who handled the sale, disclosed to Domain Name Wire that the purchase price was $1.45 million. He provided a screenshot of the Escrow.com transaction. Coogan represented the undisclosed seller.
At that price, it’s the highest publicly known domain sale to have closed so far this year.
Workspace furniture explained why the acquisition will help the company:
The acquisition of workspace.com aligns with Workspace’s long-term growth strategy and vision of becoming a globally recognized leader in innovative workspace solutions. While workspace.ae will continue to serve as the primary platform for operations in the UAE and the region, the new domain provides an expanded digital gateway to showcase Workspace’s portfolio, expertise, and design-driven solutions to a broader international audience.
The domain resolves to a separate website showcasing the company’s overall business.

Thanks Andrew. Congratulations to the buyer and seller. And thanks to both sides for allowing the sale price to be disclosed.
