Airspace restrictions make getting to Mumbai harder.

ICANN85 takes place in Mumbai starting March 7, and the conflict in the Middle East is throwing travel plans into disarray.
While the war does not impact India, airspace over much of the Middle East is shut down. This includes many travel hubs, such as Dubai and Doha.
It’s not clear how long airspace restrictions will remain in place, which is predicated on when the United States, Israel, and Iran stop attacking each other.
ICANN confirmed the meeting will still take place, and reminded attendees that they are welcome to participate remotely.
Last year’s ICANN meeting planned for Oman was moved out of the region after Israel’s attacks on Iran closed nearby airspace.
The Oman meeting was rescheduled for this fall, and ICANN will need to again make a decision on whether to relocate the meeting.
