.AI, .IO, and .CO propelled this domain investor’s 2025 sales.

With 2025 in the books, I will be interviewing a handful of domain investors in the coming months to ask them how the year was for them. I find these interviews insightful, as they let you dig into other investors’ strategies, understand pricing, and improve your domain investing prowess.
Today, I’m talking to Doron Vermaat. Doron is a long-time domain investor and co-founder of the domain sales platform Efty.
If there’s one takeaway from today’s interview, I think it should be that there are many ways to make good money in domain investing outside of .com.

.com purists are a miserable, insufferable bunch — intellectually lazy, historically illiterate, and mistaking first-mover luck for eternal law while the rest of the internet evolves without their permission.
Good interview and good to see .vc mentioned. .vc became interesting in 2025 since everyone with a robinhood account seems to now be an “investor”. For the same reasons I think .ai will continue to trend. Most startups and businesses need to have an ai angle or want to defensively protect their brand.
Once our robot overlords arrive in a few years ai could accelerate further as the bots everyone is talking to all need a namespace.
My ccTLD prediction for 2026 is .gl will attract investors as Greenland remains in the news.
Mr. Randy,
I would tell you that generalizing is typical of truly ignorant people.
Have you ever heard—if you even have ears—the phrase:
“Not all men/women were created equal”?
