Wix, Squarespace, and GoDaddy lead the way for multi-year domain registrations.

Domain Name Wire’s monthly .com registrar charts look at the raw number of .com registrations. When reviewing the latest data, I thought it would be interesting to look at which registrars sell the most multi-year initial registrations.
To analyze the data, I first sorted each registrar by the number of new .com registrations in the latest month (August 2025). I made a cut-off at 10,000 new registrations; 43 registrars had 10,000 or more new .com registrations that month.
For my regular lists, I sum all registrations within each registrar family, but for this analysis, I looked at individual accreditations.
I then calculated what percentage of each registrar’s registrations in the month were for more than one year. These were the top 15 registrars:
Registrar Name/ % MULTIYEAR
1. Wix.com Ltd. 33%
2. Squarespace Domains LLC 30%
3. GoDaddy.com, LLC 29%
4. Network Solutions, LLC 20%
5. OVH sas 18%
6. DNSPod, Inc. 16%
7. PDR Ltd. d/b/a PublicDomainRegistry.com 14%
8. HOSTINGER operations, UAB 14%
9. Alibaba Cloud Computing Ltd. d/b/a HiChina (www.net.cn) 11%
10. Xin Net Technology Corporation 9%
11. Cloud Yuqu LLC 7%
12. Cloudflare, Inc. 7%
13. Wild West Domains, LLC 7%
14. IONOS SE 6%
15. eNom, LLC 6%
The median percentage of multi-year new registrations for registrars with at least 10,000 new registrations was 3%.
It’s not surprising to see Wix and Squarespace at the top of the list. Both of these registrars help customers create websites, and these registrants are more likely to have a long-term outlook for their domains.
Squarespace has two accreditations. The other accreditation, which it acquired from Google, has no multi-year registrations, as it’s still set up to allow only one-year registrations.
I’d argue that registrars with a higher percentage of multi-year registrations have “healthier” domain registrations.
