More UDRP decisions in Q3, and more RDNH findings, too.

GigaLaw has published its Q3 UDRP report, showing that UDRP decisions in Q3 were up 9.89% compared to the same quarter of 2024.
This reverses the trend of the previous quarter, in which decisions were down 2.6% compared to the same quarter of 2024.
While the case load increased in Q3, it actually covered fewer domain names than a year ago. Cases can cover many domain names, such as the 7-Eleven case decided last quarter that included 295 domain names.
Here are some other interesting data from the report:
- Transfers were ordered in 93.3% of decisions, down slightly from 94.2% last quarter.
- Czech Arbitration Court had the highest win rate in favor of Complainants at 97.4%. WIPO was 94.0%.
- Twenty-six cases resulted in reverse domain name hijacking decisions, compared to 20 last quarter.
- .Shop, .net, and .sbs were the subject of the most disputes that didn’t involve .com.
- There were 32 disputes over .ai domains. That’s an increase of 10 from Q2, and you can expect that trend to increase as .ai continues to grow in importance.
- European retailer Carrefour filed the most disputes (33) in the quarter.
There’s a lot more data in the report, and it’s worth reviewing in full.
