You’re going to pay more for .xxx and other adult-themed domain names.
GoDaddy Registry is increasing the wholesale price of its adult-themed top level domain names on November 1.
It will charge $95 for each registration, renewal, or transfer of .xxx, .sex, .porn, and .adult domain names. This is a $10 increase from current prices.
GoDaddy Registry acquired these domain names when it bought the MMX portfolio of top level domain names in 2021.
It’s also raising the price of three other TLDs acquired from MMX by up to 66% as of November 1: .abogado will increase by $5 to $25, .casa will increase by $4 to $10, and .luxe will increase by $3 to $15.
These are the prices the registry charges domain name registrars; registrars add a markup that makes the domains more expensive to registrants.
Registrants can avoid the price increases by renewing their domains for up to 10 years before November 1.
GoDaddy Registry has also announced a price increase for 27 other domains, which will take effect on April 1, 2026. It covers the other domains acquired in 2021 from MMX and other companies, including .gay, .design, and yes, .horse. Those increases are between $1 and $5 per domain, which represent adjustments of 4% to 25%.
