Want to transfer your expired domain wins to another registrar? Here’s how to get authorization codes from NameBright in bulk.
DomainCatch is one of the best platforms for snapping up fully deleting domain names.
When you win domains at DropCatch, they are automatically added to a NameBright account. NameBright is owned by the same company as DropCatch.
You can keep your domains at NameBright, and it’s a good choice for many people. After all, it charges “at cost” pricing when you pre-fund your account.
However, many people like consolidating expired domains acquired through the drops at one registrar.
NameBright’s process for getting authorization codes in bulk is a bit unintuitive. So, here’s a step-by-step guide to getting authorization codes in bulk from the registrar.
1. Make sure you’ve waited 60 days since registration. That’s the wait time before a newly registered domain can be transferred to a new registrar. (This is likely changing to 30 days in the future.)
2. Add the domains to a category. Select each domain you want to get authorization codes for, then click “Category” at the top. Create a new category, such as “Transfer Out”.

3. Click on “My Categories” on the left-hand side
4. Click the name of the category
5. Select “More Tools” on the right
6. Choose “Download Auth Codes”, which is the second option.
This will download a simple CSV file. Your names will be in the first column, and the authorization codes will be in the second column.

You know to be honest, NameBright is an excellent registrar all by itself…
I’ve actually spent a fortune there, I’m a BIN buyer end user if the price is acceptable and the domain is good enough, and it’s not a good idea to keep putting it off.
I’m only .2% a domainer now, having started in domains almost 25 years ago and morphed into primarily an end user.
In the past, I used to move purchased domains out of NameBright pretty much as soon as possible, but then after a while I couldn’t help noticing how frankly good NB is and how there was no urgency to do that. So these days maybe I will, or maybe I’ll just keep renewing there.
Sure, I’ll bet one of the reasons NB is so good is because maybe people will just eventually drop a few good domains there later despite having paid a significant amount for them, but there’s nothing wrong with that and that’s just legitimate win-win if everything is in order. 🙂
So here’s the bottom line:
Any sense of urgency about moving domains out of NB is frankly now delusional. If you want to, sure, feel like it, have the time, etc. Otherwise just renew them there as along as you consider it a good idea or most convenient at the time. Now sure, most of my domains many times over are elsewhere, but like I said, I’ve spent a fortune on the ones at NB, and using NB is frankly great.
The thing NB is missing is Afternic Fast Transfer.
PS: so to summarize – frankly NB is actually one of the best registrars.
NB never a problem, despite they are direct competitor of domain investors. Always prompt to transfer names and CSV option great.
