Six of the 11th-20th largest .com registrars grew their DUMs year over year.

Earlier this week, I provided the latest official numbers for the top ten domain name registrars, ranked by total .com domains under management. I noted that just one of the ten largest registrar families, Namecheap, grew its .com base year over year.
This shouldn’t be a huge surprise, given that the total number of .com domains registered overall fell during that period.
But it’s also true that some of the not-quite-as-large domain registrars are growing and taking market share from the old incumbents. Indeed, when you look at the next 10 largest registrars, half showed growth from November 2023 to November 2024 (the latest month for which official data is available). One of these nearly doubled its .com domains under management!
Registrar Nov24 .coms (Nov23 .coms) percent change
11. Wix 2,902,870 (2,652,823) up 9%
12. GMO 2,520,712 (2,729,863) down 8%
13. Dynadot 2,529,768 (2,127,359) up 19%
14. Hostinger 1,974,163 (999,844) up 97%
15. NameSilo 1,892,957 (2,238,253) down 15%
16. OVH sas 1,533,070 (1,548,582) down 1%
17. Cloudflare 1,4713,46 (999,844) up 47%
18. Name.com 1,378,350 (1,391,180) down 1%
19. Amazon Registrar 1,159,876 (1,039,717) up 12%
20. PorkBun 972,079 (541,849) up 79%
How are these registrars growing?
Some, like Wix (NASDAQ: WIX), put a lot of money into marketing and bundle domains with websites.
Others compete based on price and service. Some of the registrars seem to be doing bulk deals with domain investors, as evidenced by some lumpy months.
While .com isn’t growing overall, some registrars are taking market share from the largest players.
