Entri sued after GoDaddy prevented the startup from making changes to customers’ DNS records.
Domain registrar GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) and Entri, a firm that helps customers change DNS records, have settled their lawsuit.
Entri acts as a conduit between SaaS companies and domain registrars. If a customer needs to update their domain’s DNS records to work with an email provider, site builder, or other SaaS business, they can use a wizard directly on the SaaS company’s website to make these changes.
For a while, Entri allowed users to change records on domains at GoDaddy. But GoDaddy eventually cut off Entri, leading to Entri filing a lawsuit.
Nearly a year later, with the case scheduled for trial in April, the parties filed a motion with the court to dismiss the case.
The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, although I assume that Entri will once again offer connections to domains registered at GoDaddy.
An Entri spokesperson declined to comment. I have reached out to GoDaddy to see if it has a comment.
