Sales will partially satisfy a judgment in a stolen domain name lawsuit.
After about a one-month delay, the King County Sheriff auctioned off some of Rob Monster’s assets this week to partially satisfy a court judgment.
The sale stems from a $486,000 judgment against Monster in a stolen domain lawsuit from Monster’s time as CEO of domain name registrar Epik.
Lawyers for the plaintiff in that case were able to obtain some money from Monster’s bank accounts. They then proceeded to pursue Monster’s assets.
The auction was initially slated for early December, but Monster successfully pushed this back. He argued that the silver was pledged as collateral against a loan from his father and questioned the veracity of the lawsuit.
He filed another appeal this week, but the sales went forward.
On Tuesday this week, the sheriff auctioned off a 2011 Lexus LX for $23,100 and a 2015 Fiat 500 for $9,000. On Wednesday, it auctioned silver and a stamp collection that sold for just under $85,000.
The sales won’t completely satisfy the judgment.
A judgment in a separate lawsuit for $300,000 plus interest has also been transferred to King County courts. There has been no action in that case since September.
Monster is also in default in a Federal District case brought by a domain investor who claims he is owed more than $1 million.

Justice is being served
Hard to fathom how this could have happened – how it could have come to this. My emotional response (it seems hard to believe) is reminiscent of the Nelson Brady shill-bidder fiasco.
Still no criminal charges. That’s a travesty.

There must have been some of that silver and stamp collection in the trunks…
2011 Lx 570 price out at 25k to 35 with near same mileage.
I thought that too, but when I plugged the VIN into KBB it’s actually about right.
Well I was both sales. Lexus was a nice SUV fiat had 19k miles. Silver sold for a rather good price.
