Months after rebranding in public, ConvertKit switched its domain name today.

With the rebrand, ConvertKit.com now forwards to Kit.com.
On Domain Name Wire Podcast #498, Kit founder Nathan Barry told me why he felt his company had outgrown the ConvertKit name as it expanded its offerings. He also discussed the process undertaken to minimize disruption from changing domain names, and why his company acquired Kit.co at the same time.
Barry has taken a very deliberate approach to this rebrand, including “rebranding in public” so people could see the process. This makes sense, given Barry’s last attempt to rebrand the company. He planned to change the name to Seva but ran into issues because of the term’s meaning.
