Afternic launches new lander that replaces Dan.com lander

Lease-to-own option now available on GoDaddy-branded lander.

Afternic has launched a new landing page option that replaces the Dan.com lander while adding additional features.

Called the Custom Lander, it allows domain sellers to offer lease-to-own transactions on a GoDaddy-branded lander (and URL) for the first time.

It looks very similar to the old Dan.com lander that customers had to use to get lease to own on their landing pages, but it’s not limited to lease to own. Sellers can use it for buy it now (BIN) or BIN+LTO, and both options will send buyers through the GoDaddy cart to pay.

The new lander will automatically use the local language when people visit it. In the future, it will also show local currencies.

It also enables CamelCasing, but this has to be set up individually for each domain for now.

GoDaddy says the new lander will offer more customization in the future.

Now that the Customer Lander is available, the Dan.com lander will no longer be available within Afternic. Domains currently pointing to the Dan.com lander will automatically point to the Custom Lander.

This is a good thing, too. I just discovered that if you point a domain to the Dan.com lander through Afternic and someone else has listed the domain for sale on Dan.com, it shows that other seller’s listing on the lander instead of your Afternic listing.
