DNW is celebrating a birthday today.
Domain Name Wire is now voting age, celebrating its 18th birthday today.
I started Domain Name Wire on March 9, 2005, as the first blog covering the business of domain names. A lot has changed in the industry since then (back then, we were talking more about parking domains than selling them, for example). But I’ve strived to cover whatever is important to domain name registrars, registries, investors, and everyone else in the ecosystem at any given time.
This site started as a hobby, but the generous support of many companies in the industry that sponsor this blog has allowed me to spend significant time discovering, analyzing, and reporting what’s important to readers. So thank you to all of the sponsors. Please take a moment to look around the site and click through to some advertisers, and let them know you appreciate that they support this site.
I’d also like to thank readers and podcast listeners for showing up, reading, and commenting. We might not always see eye to eye, but it’s great to discuss this business we love.
Now for year 19…
Well done and congrats!
Happy Birthday DNW! Thank you Andrew for always bringing consistency and professionalism with your efforts!
Happy Birthday DW!
Very well done. Yours is one of the only blogs that I look forward to reading, because your content is ‘value-add’ for domainers.
Congrats on Year 18!
Congrats to DNW and Andrew! Keep up the great work!
Happy Birthday DNW! Thank you for all your great coverage on our industry!
Congrats Andrew. Your dedication to this blog and your podcast is certainly an asset to the industry. Thank you.
P.S. Now that your blog is voting age, I hope it registers democrat ๐
Congrats to DNW and Andrew, for their great work!
Happy BDAY Andrew!!! Mazel Tov on a great job in the industry!!!
Congratulations!!
Congrats! You can now vote and drink (in Europe!)
โWe might not always see eye to eye, but itโs great to discuss this business we love.โ
Beautifully put, Andrew, almost reads like a poem. I could not agree with you more.
Thatโs a long time to be committed to your readers. Thanks for all your insight and coverage over the years. There are only a handful of domain industry writers that can claim that title.
Happy B Day, you are an adult now-go join the Marines!!
The domain industry is so lucky to have you, Andrew, and DNW as part of the ecosystem. Thank you for your hard work and professionalism over the last 18 years. Congratulations and onwards!
Hey!! Congrats, man. That is quite the accomplishment. ๐
Happy 18th Andrew & DNW! In addition to being able to vote, DNW can legally drink in many states now (unfortunately Washington State is not one of them)! Actually, there is a workaround though – your state statute says “the law is not an outright ban. Under RCW 66.44. 270, minors may drink at home if a parent provides the alcohol!” Very strange, but true. The way I see it, you gave birth to DNW so technically you are the parent! That means, as long as DNW doesn’t leave the house, the publication is free to get plastered ๐
Domain Name Wire is so getting drunk tonight ๐
Happy 18th and CONGRATS Andrew! This a true testament to your dedication (and passion) for the domain industry. Thank you!
Happy Birthday to my favorite blog!
Congratulations Andrew, and that you for all the great content and topics.
damn I feel old
Happy Birthday DNW! Andrew, since 18 years we are happy and grateful to hear regularly about your expertise and views on the Domain Industry. We look forward to being by your side in the coming years as an advertising partner
Congrats for this milestone, Andrew. And thanks a lot for sharing tons of knowledge through your website.
P.s I clicked on each Ad as a appreciation. ๐
Congrats DNW
Congrats Andrew.
. . . and you still look the same, Andrew! How do you do it?!
But seriously, DNW has been one of the most important, most informative, most valuable assets in the domain realm.
A realm that wouldn’t be the same without you.
Belated Happy Birthday! Still the best.
