Prolific domain industry writer takes new role at GoDaddy.
James Iles has joined GoDaddy as its domain investment community manager.
It’s a new role at the company. Iles will work with domainers to help with issues they are experiencing, and he’ll take feedback so he can work with GoDaddy’s developers to help bring solutions.
“My goal is to make it easier for domain investors to use the tools and resources efficiently,” Iles wrote via email. “I think of this position as a bridge between GoDaddy and the domain investment community.”
Iles writes a domain blog at JamesNames.com and has contributed to NamePros, MediaOptions, and DomainSherpa. For the past couple of years, he has also contributed a weekly story to Domain Name Wire about companies that have acquired great domain names.
“I feel like this is a perfect opportunity to provide the industry knowledge I have gathered over the years and share it with the domain industry in a slightly different way,” Iles wrote.
I’m happy for James and think he’ll do well in this role. But it also means he will no longer write for Domain Name Wire, and he will be missed. I’m always looking for qualified writers, so please drop me a line if interested.
