Beyond new colors and styles, here are two improvements that Dan.com released last week.
Dan.com launched a refreshed experience last week. Most of the changes are cosmetic with refreshed landing pages, new colors and fonts, and mobile improvements.
There are two features that I think are particularly noteworthy.
First, you can now enable “make offer” on domains that offer installment payments. Previously, you could only include make offer if you chose the older domain financing option of up to 12 months, not the newer option with extended terms. Now you can enable it on any domain, even if financing is set to five years. (Note that Dan.com gently dissuades allowing offers.)
Second, the new landers de-emphasize the payment option and are now clearer about what the domain costs if you pay upfront or over time. Previously, the landers focused on the monthly payments.
The new design has a radio button selection to pay at once or over time. If a buyer selects the lease to own option, the box will expand to let them choose the duration of their payments.
I was a bit surprised to see the graphical changes to landers, given that the company seemed to have dialed in the old design for conversion. But I’m sure they did testing of the new design before rolling it out.
