GoldmanSachs.com expires later this month!
OK, I get it. Fortune 500 companies use reputable brand management domain registrars that are good at auto-renewing domain names.
Still, if you’re Comcast, does it make sense that your domain name expires in just a couple of months? If you’re a big banking institution like Goldman Sachs, why are you waiting until days before your domain name is due to expire to renew it? If you’re Wal-Mart, the world’s biggest retailer, does it make sense that a core piece of your infrastructure is due to go offline in under three months?
Here are 6 Fortune 500 companies with domain names expiring in the new four months.
GoldmanSachs.com – July 24
Comcast.com – August 28
Ford.com – August 31
Walmart.com – September 23
Humana.com – September 25
Chase.com – October 9

I don’t understand why they don’t renew for 10 years?

All of the registrations are via corporate/brand protection registrars- likely not directly managed by the entities themselves. Without speaking to their contracts/services specifically, it is possible to tie the length of registration to something other than the registration term- such as the contract term for brand protection services (which then also includes the ancillary service of domain name registration). It often falls to the registrar to renew these domains as part of their agreement, and they can do it for 1-10 years based upon agreement with the company, type of services, etc.
This is not the same for all companies that use these corporate/brand protection registrars- look at google.com and alphabet.com, but it appears to be quite common (e.g. netflix.com, microsoft.com, apple.com, and verisign.com).

Agreed, I don’t understand at all why they don’t just renew for 10 years or more. It is very risky to not renew for at least 5 years in advance. You’re actually relying that someone’s corporate credit card will go through.
I ran DNP Score for all of them, and they all have LOW DNP Scores, mainly due to expiry dates:
Domain DNP Score
walmart.com 450
comcast.com 550
humana.com 550
ford.com 550
chase.com 550
goldmansachs.com 550

That’s just insane. I found this to be true back in May 2015 when I was doing similar research.

I found out that adobe.com and cisco.com were days away from expiration!

What you mean? They can renew any time they want, right ?
