A company spent $105,000 to acquire a three letter initialism of its long domain name.
Sedo published its latest list of public sales over $2,000 today. A company called Trendstream Limited led the charts with the $105,000 purchase of GWI.com. The company also picked up the matching .co for good measure.

GWI.com $105,000 and GWI.co $2,500 – Trendstream Limited bought these domains. The company operates an audience analytics platform for marketing agencies and media organizations at GlobalWebIndex.com, so it bought the shorter initialisms.
AbleApp.com $7,500 – Ruby Labs, a mobile app developer in Great Britain, bought this domain for an upcoming health app called Able.
Umwelt.info €7,500 – The Whois record shows Consulting Piezunka & Schamoni – IT GmbH. The domain forwards to BMU.de, the website for the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Umwelt is German for ‘environment’.
Profund.net $5,800 – I’m not sure what to make of this purchase. Whois shows SRS Distribution, a national network of independent roofing distributors in the US, as the owner.
MrAqua.com $5,500 – This domain was purchased by the Czech company Crane Consulting. It provides mediation and consulting for industry, trade and investment companies.
La-Solution.com $4,995 – Debiopharm is an independent biopharmaceutical company based in Switzerland. I believe it owns or is affiliated with a home health business that uses the domain La-Solution.ch.
Green-Bikes.de €4,500 – From the holding page’s looks, this will be used by a bike seller.
AktienScreener.de $3,960 – The domain forwards to AktienScreener.com. It’s a German financial software company that provides a stock screening tool. Aktien is German for ‘stock’.
Bison.us $3,800 – Bison Technologies is an energy firm focused on water supply, logistics and infrastructure-related problems.
StaffGroup.de €3,750 – Forwards to StaffGroup.com, a UK recruiting firm.
Lifeguard.cn $3,500 & Lifeguard.fr €2,499 – Both of these websites forward to Lifeguard.at, which features a “Coming soon” message about a protective service that will be available through this website.
AirFry.com $3,000 – The domain forwards to MomsDish.com, a recipe and cooking blog.
“GWI.com $105,000”
Weak sale given the enduser buyer, the LLL.com still seem to have no strength in it despite other parts of the market seeing an uptick this year.
Weak seller or seller needs quick cash but not weal LLL.com.
Don’t forget, some top domainers won’t sell this for even $600,000.Someone like Rick would do better.
