Lander will be in addition to current “request price” landers.
GoDaddy is introducing a “Buy Now” lander for domain name sales after many requests from the domain investment community.
The company is currently testing the landers. GoDaddy will test the landers on its own NameFind inventory before opening them to all domain investors.
The landers include a “buy now” link as well as phone numbers for potential buyers who want to speak to a representative over the phone. It also emphasizes GoDaddy’s brand to great confidence, including a large message that reads: “Buy with confidence with GoDaddy”.
Domain investors have been asking for these landers for a long time, with a goal of leveraging GoDaddy’s trust and name recognization with customers to increase sales.
Still going to charge 20% for someone to bin with a 1.7% cc processing fee?
This will the big question: are you better off using another service’s BIN pages at lower commission rates or is the GoDaddy brand worth the difference? You’d need to have a lot of domains to test this; I’m sure some of the bigger domain investors will be able to give us an answer.
I domain primarily in Latin America and the mistrust of everything online is high and I’ve noticed many of my customers will only buy via GoDaddy, it is a must have option. I offer discounts for dealing directly with me via Escrow.com, PayPal or Epik, but sadly GoDaddy still gets my money in many cases.
10% commission or less. Period.
I’d love to know which broker offers 10% commission!!!
For for-sale landers, I’m not aware of any company that charges MORE than 10%.
Refreshing the page causes the “broker” change while the quotation is often the same noticing which leads the visitors to conclusion these “brokers” are fake. Not the best way to gain buyer’s trust…
That is bad!!! GoDaddy is less desirable for me as a domainer due to the declining quality of customer service and lack of respect for the industry. I’ve been victim of several glitches in their domain management system that haven’t allowed me to renew domains and they have even failed to turn over domains I bought at expired auction, blatantly lying about owner renewals and other errors when I already knew who the owner was and other details that they just lie about. They are figuring out how to eliminate us, just wait. They are working on perfecting their domain evaluations and probably start their own premium gtdl domain portfolio using these landing pages as if they were us.
A buy now lander post six years of requests as an indication of their innovation? if only they had more market capital or a bigger budget for our industry…
This is too funny. Maybe they should focus instead on not kicking people out of their monopoly for political reasons.
2021 prediction: more hacks, more security breaches, more lost names, more executive arrogance, more complaint dismissals, more denials, more damage control, more service terminations, more persecutions based on political beliefs, antitrust hearings, massive penalties, total management rework, and tens of thousands of emails made available to the public for our very own Godaddyleaks.
I am bringing popcorn.
So are these landers only for names listed for sale directly via GoDaddy accounts or also Afternic listed names?
If they are for all names, I do think this could be a game-changer.
These will be for Afternic listed domains
Thanks, that sounds great!
A sale lander!
Innovation?
Sure for godaddy
20% commission
Why buy portfolios when you can throw up a lander and make 20 points
