Service can be used to pull d0main data into applications.
Seattle-based IPinfo has launched Host.io, an API and website offering domain name data.
Users can quickly get domain data such as host, backlinks, outlinks, redirects, and DNS info including MX records. While other services offer similar data, the primary feature is Host.io’s API that lets developers integrate the data for applications such as security.
I ran several of my domains through Host.io. The data were interesting, although it certainly didn’t capture all links.
For DomainNameWire.com, it also showed domains that redirect to the site as being co-hosted with it.
Host.io also has a top 10 million domains list that it is giving away for free. It’s based on a proprietary ranking algorithm and doesn’t come with additional data, but it could be useful for people who need a large list of active domain names.
