A plant proteins company, a music streaming service, and a bug tracking app bought domain names at Sedo this past week.
When is the last time you saw a .ws domain on a sales list? Let alone for thousands of dollars? It happened this week with a sale that almost broke the existing record for the Samoa ccTLD.
Here’s a list of some of the end user sales at Sedo this past week. You can see previous lists like this here.
StarAtlas.com $14,999 – The page resolves to a site that says “Start Atlas – Recruiting Soon.”
World-Finance.com $6,000 – World Finance is a lending company.
WorkWatch.com $4,888 – ThinkLogix, a no code application development platform, launched WorkWatch as a software tool for Covid-19 worksite compliance.
TECAS.com $4,500 – Toews Environmental Ltd. bought this domain. TE obviously stands for Toews Environmental, but I’m not sure about the rest of the domain.
PocketBook.at $4,000 – e-Reader company Pocketbook bought this domain. The company is currently involved in a legal fight over Pocketbook.com.
MyBacon.com $4,000 – Ecovative Design, a biomaterials company, bought this domain name. One of its products is plant-based meat proteins.
Incite.ws $3,950 – Do not check your glasses. You are reading this correctly. A .ws domain sold for $3,950. That’s the second-highest sale ever reported, and it’s been nearly three years since a .ws domain sold for $3,000 or more (sex .ws). Incite, a strategic marketing consultancy with offices in London, New York and San Francisco, is the buyer.
HearThis.com €3,500 – Forwards to HearThis.at, a music and podcast download and streaming service.

SummitAppliance.com $2,998 – Summit Appliance manufactures and sells commercial grade refrigeration and freezer appliances as well as washer and dryers, range hoods and more.
BugLink.com $2,850 – It looks like the bug tracking app that uses BugLink.io bought the matching .com domain.

RyderMedia.com $2,399 – Ryder Media is a marketing agency focused on e-commerce businesses.

This is an international nonprofit organization with a mission to improve the care of patients by promoting research, education, and optimal healthcare policies and standards. The domain forwards to www.hrssessions.org.

Logan says
Based on the above information, I just hand-registered 2,467 .ws domain names, including many with trademarks, hyphens, numerals, and plurals. I have now decided to retire because surely I am set.

A few months ago, the domainer J. Sheppard sold basic.vc and fuse.vc for $4,999 each one. It is not surprising that incite.ws is now sold for $3,950. According to dofo.com, the .vc extension has 14,000 registers and .ws 113,000 register names
Andrew Allemann says
What does a .ws sale have to do with .vc?
Blue says
Well, I think they have in common that both are cctld, although .ws is slightly more popular and has more sales than .vc. so it should not surprise so much the sale of incite.ws. It’s my modest observation.
