Company eyes artificial intelligence engineers for one of its 52 domains.
Amazon is trying to hire software engineers to work on one of its new top level domains, with a focus on artificial intelligence and chatbots.
The job listing states:
We are looking for a Software Engineer to play a central role within the engineering team for a key gTLD. In this role, you will play an engineering leadership role in the development of the product portfolio for the rapidly growing conversational voice and text interaction space, influencing how human to machine conversations are enabled by working with Amazon AI and building technology powered by Machine Learning and Natural Language Processing. You will contribute to key architectural decisions, building a robust and scalable new product used by developers and consumers. This is an opportunity to be involved in shaping this exciting new space from the ground up.
My first thought is that this is for .bot, but the language suggests that perhaps it’s for a domain that the company hasn’t launched. It launched .bot in 2017.
One candidate domain is .talk. Other generic domains the company has yet to launch include .like, .fast, .song, .book, .pay, .got, .deal, .free, .pin, .jot, .spot, .save, .safe, .hot, .joy, .wow, .now, .read, .call, .secure, .you, .author, and .buy.
We aren’t far from AI using domain portfolios to promote assets around the web.
While any *individual* might not have access to some of this stuff…doesn’t mean it isn’t happening:
AI can write comments, tweets, articles: content around the web. That in itself isn’t a big deal…the point is, having a variety of POWERFUL, short, exacting, catchy; high click-though rate domains means they can drop very RELEVANT URLs to send the user where they want.
So while the destination might not be *exactly* related to the content at home, a single domain acts as a BRIDGE (url forward).
Domains, nTLD in particular are suited for this. There’s money in being the ‘middle man’. That is you don’t have to be the endpoint to profit, only the middle man, with your premium inventory of effective *bridges*.
Summery, the right ‘bridge’ domain may be more effective at bringing traffic than the exact domain which said company is using (endpoint).
very true… but majority of population sees internet trough generic TLDs , .com will be first choice click… so buy this domains…

There’s been an offer for the “BABY Registry” in March 2020 and I thought it was about the dotBaby Registry but .BABY belongs to XYZ so I guess it has nothing to do with “.baby” domain nameS.
