Here’s how these three LLL .com domains, all sold in December, could be used in China.
Three-letter .com domains are sought after in corporate China because they can be used as upgrades for 3-pin names that are long or difficult to pronounce. The upgrade from ZhuBaJie.com to ZBJ.com is a good example. Zhu Ba Jie is simply known as ZBJ (or ZBJ.com) outside China.
I have written about the power of three letter domains in “Three letter domains can have end user value in China” and “How a 3 letter domain helped this business go global“.
Namebio reports only 3 three-letter .com sales in December, 2019, which is quite a large drop from the 9 in the previous month.
FDJ.com was sold for $40,100 at DropCatch. This domain can be turned into many Chinese brands, such as Fang Dai Jing (房贷京=home loan capital), Fu Dao Jun (辅导军=tutoring army), and Fen Dou Jia (奋斗家=someone working hard to improve his life).
QSE.com was sold for $11,016 at Sedo. Many Chinese brands are possible, such as Qing Song E (轻松鹅=relaxed goose), Quan Shi En (全是恩=all grace), and Qiao Shou Er (巧手儿=skillful son).
CTX.com was sold for $139,001 at GoDaddy. This domain is very versatile, with possible brands such as Chuang Tian Xia (闯天下=to break into the world), Chuan Tong Xing (传统型=traditional style), and Cong Tou Xue (从头学=learn from the beginning).
I’m very bullish on the future of three letter .com domains.
