Yes, domain financing and leasing is booming. It is true. However, why would anyone do such a deal with a 3rd party versus with an integrated registrar and marketplace. There is no compelling argument for the incremental counterparty risk, let alone the associated fees.
Will be interesting to see if Contrib gets traction with tokenized domains. The concept makes intuitive sense though I wonder about counterparty risk here as well. I am a fan of Chad and think he is natural champion for this type of fractional asset marketplace. The securitization of IP assets is in its infancy.
