Consider hiring a broker or using Afternic.
China is an attractive place for domain investors. We hear of exciting news of domains sold to Chinese buyers for incredible prices. Naturally, we want to know how we can do the same too and reap a handsome return.
In the high end, there have been many multimillion sales to China. Some examples are 360.com for a reported $17 million and Le.com for a reported $10 million to Chinese companies. Even domains of other extensions can sometimes achieve great prices. For example, 1377.cc and 1877.cc were sold for $17,000 and $13,000 respectively last December and I wrote about them in Two interesting .cc domain sales.
If you have domains in the 6 figures or higher price ranges, it may be a good idea to solicit help from a China-based domain broker. However, if you are like me and the majority of domain investors holding domains of average quality, that option may not be available. But, you can try an MLS (multiple listing service) provider.
One MLS provider I use is Afternic. Afternic is owned by Godaddy which provides Chinese content and payments (Alipay and China UnionPay) on its website to sell domains to Chinese buyers. Afternic also partners with domain registrars in China such as Wan Wang (万网), Chengmi.cn (橙米网), Xinnet (新网), Yijie.com (易介网), eName (易名), and na.wang (纳点网). They remove the language and payment barriers usually faced by domain investors.
For example, last year I sold several domains to Chinese buyers (although unintended) via Afternic and one of them was Tcozy.com. I set a price and forgot it until Afternic notified me of the sale with subsequent payment of the proceeds into my bank account. The domain was bought by a Chinese end user in the heating/cooling device business. This experience also shows that a good domain will sell to anywhere in the world, including China.

there is no such thing as an english alphabet
it,s latin !
Dai Kuan can refer to 贷款 (loans). Good luck on your Latin domain investing.
What are the price ranges for some of your average quality domains selling to Chinese buyers. I have the dot com that a Chinese company is branded using dot net. No reply back from this company and it maybe my asking price is too high. Thanks.
When it comes to end user sales, price depends on how badly they need a domain and how much money they have. I don’t believe in comps. Just look at Voice.com sold for $30m last year to Hong Kong-based company.
My favorite price point is $3000 for domains I can sell to only small businesses.
I have a topdomain… Com in the areas of climate topic…. Is China a place for this or Who else is best taget market…
Apologize for missing your comment. While I understand the general trends of domains in China, I myself rely on end user research when it comes to specific niche or domains.
Enjoyed your insight into China’s emerging use of dot coms. Also your other post on the new regional organization including 10 Asian countries along with New Zealand and Australia. Will you be attending Namescon?
All the best! Moonshot Ted
Glad to know that you enjoyed my articles, which really encourages me to research and write more. You impress me with your forward thinking mindset and acquisition of domains in view of future trends. I follow that attitude too and collect domains accordingly. I like Ray Kurzweil too. His prediction in 1980s of the arrival of widespread use of the web by the end of the century was spot on!
Is there capital gains tax charged on domain sales in China aka were i to move to hong kong and get residency there.
Try Namepros. There’s a lot of good information to read.

Tried these on Afternic but not even a look in. It changed the Chinese characters to random letters. Any ideas on how to get around this?

I don’t invest in IDN so do not have much to share. Try to ask your question at Namepors where there are some IDN investors.
Is there a site that collects these sellers to display the domain because I have domains that I want to sell, or a specific publishing method?
You could add ykur domains for sale on 4.cn
