Cisco bought a new domain for a product launch, plus other domain purchases.
Uniregistry release its top 20 sales for the last two weeks combined, and it had some nice domains. The most notable buyer is Cisco (NASDAQ: CSCO), but it wasn’t the most expensive domain on the list. Here’s what I dug up:
1. companionpet.com $25,000 – Someone using Google Registrar bought the domain. I suspect it’s an end user.
2. phoneparts.com $25,000 – Whois privacy.
3. xtag.com $23,000 – Pixeline Technologies is an Israeli firm that provides a conference technology called Xtag.
4. ventured.com $20,000 – The buyer is setting up a WordPress site.
5. poas.com $20,000 – The buyer might be in the UK.
6. b2bsales.com $16,500 – The domain forwards to GetReqs.com, a technology for recruiters.
7. uterineprolapse.com $16,000 – Someone in Missouri bought this domain.
8. spartacus.net $12,000 – Whois privacy
9. kosmetics.com $10,000 – The domain is forwarding to TheBomb.com, which is coming soon.
10. nonchalant.com $10,000 – Channing and Company, a branding and design company, bought this domain.
11. bitradio.com $10,000 – This was a wise purchase for the free radio service that uses the domain bitrad.io.
12. invinity.com $10,000 – Someone in California bought this domain.
13. siliconone.com $9,600 – Cisco bought this for Silicone One, the brand name of its new silicon.
14. ngine.com $8,325 – It appears the buyer is ecommerce company Ngine, which uses the domain Ngine.se.
15. sporttravel.com $8,050 – The domain has a coming soon page that says you will be able to book sports travel packages.
16. nysu.com $8,000 – E Commerce Ventures Inc in Wyoming
17. uncommon.org $7,750 – Someone in New York bought this domain
18. zonesafe.com $7,600 – The domain forwards to ZoneSafe.net, a company that offers proximity warnings to prevent human/machine collisions.
19. metaphores.com $5,500 – French intellectual property attorneys Scan Advocats. It likely bought this for a client.
20. butterflywing.com $5,000 – Someone in British Columbia.

I will stop checking this if you are going to post a bunch of “I don’t really know” type of comments. This is a #Fail. Don’t drop your standards. Post when you actually have true id info. TY

In my Sedo reports, I only report on the ones that have any info. I can exclude these from the Uniregistry lists, but I think people appreciate seeing the domains and their sales prices.

Keep doing what you’re doing and how you’re doing it Andrew. The large majority of your readers appreciate it.

You’ll be missed.

Are you using whois to get buyer info? I was interested in learning more about ButterflyWing, but all the whois searches I’m doing make it look like its still for sale at Uniregistry. I can’t see anything about a BC buyer. Is there a different tool I should be using?
Andrew Allemann says
Uniregistry’s Whois will show you the location of the buyer, but blocks out the rest due to GDPR. You should do the search directly on Uniregistry’s site.

Ah, ok good to know. Thanks!

It would be nice if you can interview the “buyers” of the domains and ask them!!
