Company has used Destruction.com since 1996. Now it’s rebranding as its domain name.
A Boston-area shredding company is rebranding with the help of its great domain name Destruction.com.
Datasafe Information Security was founded in 1990 as a business focused on various aspects of data security, including shredding.
Founder Rick Carey told Domain Name Wire that, over the years, most of the company’s business has turned out to be shredding. So nearly thirty years in, the company is rebranding as Destruction.com. It’s a great domain for what it does: the destruction of everything from documents to electronics to defective products.
It’s a rebrand but not a new domain. Carey was fortunate to register Destruction.com in 1996 and has been using the domain for its website and emails ever since. But when you visit the site, the brand name is Datasafe, not Destruction.com. That will change soon and Carey hopes to complete the transition next year.
“We think our URL clearly defines who we are and what we do,” said Carey. “Plus, it’s a very memorable name.”
