Acquisitions boost CentralNic in 2018.
Domain name company CentralNic (London AIM: CNIC) reported full year 2018 results today.
The company’s revenue doubled to £42.7 million and gross profit was up 69% to £19.7m.
Adjusted EBITDA, which excludes share based payments, expense for options, premium domain sales, foreign exchange, and non core operating costs, was up 66% to £7.0m.
The boost came courtesy of the company’s acquisition of KeyDrive last year. It also acquired the .sk country code manager just before 2018. .Sk contributed £1.7 to EBITDA in 2018.
In its earnings report, the company made it clear that it plans to grow by acquiring more companies.
It’s encouraging that the company is getting off the premium domain treadmill — it even removed premium domain revenue from its main revenue number. Whether that was by choice or necessity, it bodes well for future years. The company had essentially no premium domain revenue in 2018; it had £3.0m in 2017.
