Most of Donuts’ domains will be more costly soon.
Domain name registry Donuts is raising prices October 1.
On average, prices for standard domain registrations will increase 7%. Premium domain prices will remain unchanged.
Of Donuts’ 241 top level domains, 16 will remain unchanged and 220 will increase by 6% to 9%.
One domain name will be reduced. .Group’s wholesale price will be slashed 35% to compete with similar domain names in the market.
Customers can renew their domain names before October 1 for up to 10 years at today’s prices.
In practice, first-year registrants likely won’t notice the increase because Donuts heavily discounts first-year registrations.

What a coincidence. I don’t have many new g’s left, but most of them are with Donuts and I’m looking forward to finally dropping a bunch.
But what will we do when ICANN first allows this nonsense for .org and .info and then .com?
John says
Every one I have is for use, but they are not making me any money, and I’ve had them long enough. I’m not putting up with that in perpetuity even as an end user.
David Michaels says
Annual price increases are another reason to not invest in gTLDs. Just buy the gTLD domains that you will use, if .com and ccTLDs are not available.

Accidentally got my reply under my own, but was meant for here.
Every one I have is for use, but they are not making me any money, and I’ve had them long enough. I’m not putting up with that in perpetuity even as an end user.
Rubens Kuhl says
.com is a gTLD… perhaps you were referring to 2012+ gTLDs ?
Nick says
Anyone that keeps renewing that trash is crazy. Price increases will never stop.
James Kite says
That’s inflation for you.
You better stop eating, driving, using electricity and so on while you’re at it, because they will always see price rises as well.
The issue isn’t in price rises within inflationary expectations but whether price rises are due to market issues and an inability to cover costs (prior to factoring in profit expectations)
Nick says
Hey world’s worst economic professor, this has nothing to do with inflation. Just like when Uniregistry increases prices 3000% last year for some new TLDs. It’s just a company changing it’s price to whatever it wants.
James Kite says
6%-9% is marginally higher than inflation.
This isn’t increasing prices to whatever they want “just like uniregistry’s 3000%”
6%-9% is an adjustment with the thought of maintaining an affordable price for end users.
3000% is an adjustment of desperation.
Time to evaluate your portfolio, weed out the weak names and maintain the good.
Mark Thorpe says
Of course Donuts increased prices. I’m not surprised that they did.
InterstellarDomain says
I really want to know what are the 16 domain names that will not increase in price.
