How Joshua Schoen built his domain name portfolio.
Joshua Schoen didn’t get into domain name investing until 2016, but he has created a nice portfolio including Sign.com, Mockingbird.com, and many other high-quality names. On today’s show, he discusses how he inquires about buying domains, his strategy, and the story of when an expired domain frontrunner actually helped him sell a domain.
Also: DJ Snake fail, GoDaddy fires an employee for bidding, 2 big domain sales, .UK, .Scot, and Zoom.com.

:O One word for you on that note, Josh: repent. One more word, too: REPENT. 😐

I’m just past 24:00 and he just mentioned what sounded like “ZF.com” and “ZF.db” as good search tools, but zf.com appears doubtful that could be it (or is it?) and zf.db is nowhere to be found.
Joshua Schoen says
Hey John, the tools I mentioned were zfbot.com and dotdb.com. Both are helpful for seeing what other domains are registered containing a specific keyword.
John says
Thanks, will check them out.

Joshua is a great dude. We’ve never met, but I asked him a slew of questions on Linkedin and he was very willing in answering them.
This was a very insightful podcast – I like his strategy of acquiring a handful of premium names instead of battling it out in the auctions with the rest of us schmucks.

Thanks Bar, that means a lot. Always nice chatting with you.
