32 shared hosting platforms ranked by uptime.
Web hosting uptime is an interesting thing. You don’t think about your host when things are working properly. You curse their name when your site is down.
HostingStats.com created test sites on 32 shared hosting platforms last year to see which ones had the best uptime. It measured outage minutes, longest outages and average site speed.
I’m a bit surprised by the results. Many of Endurance International’s platforms (including BlueHost and HostGator) performed very well. MidPhase was the winner with the least downtime. Four hosts had total downtime of more than 1,000 minutes during the year (ouch).
I use a few different web hosts for my sites, and downtime seems like less of an issue now than it did years ago.
Check out the uptime results for all 32 hosts tested.
