Two decades after founding Web.com, David Brown steps down following acquisition.
Web.com founder, CEO and President David Brown is leaving the company in early 2019, the company announced today.
The move comes after Siris Capital Group acquired the company for $2.24 billion in October.
Brown founded the company in 1997 and has been its CEO throughout his tenure. Web.com will announce a successor in Q1 2019 and Brown will stay on during a transition period.
Web.com owns domain name companies Network Solutions, Register.com, Snapnames and NameJet. Its headquarters is in Jacksonville, Florida.

Ill be honest, as someone who has looked to each of these companies mentioned for help on behalf of others, I threw up in my mouth a little. Congrats to Jim Brown none the less, at least things could only get better in terms of security and customer service.
