Tax law changes influence decision to move headquarters to U.S.
Domain name registry Afilias has made the United States its legal headquarters, moving it from Ireland.
The company created a new Delaware company, Afilias, Inc. and made its previous parent company, Afilias plc, a subsidiary of the Delaware company.
Afilias was one of many domain name companies that set up operations in Ireland, ostensibly to take advantage of favorable tax policies. With the recent change in U.S. tax laws, the benefits of running a headquarters through Ireland are not as great.
Nothing should change day-to-day. The U.S. headquarters, which already existed, is in the Philadelphia suburb of Horsham, Pennsylvania.

When it’s time to pay off the deficits from those tax cuts and spending increases will you still be wearing your MAGA hat?
Mark Thorpe says
Exactly.

Sure would be nice if there were politicians who were still fiscally conservative, rather than ones that figure the best way to get elected is to hand out money.

Sadly today’s political environment doesn’t reward bravery. The politician who tells people they can’t have everything they want, e.g. massive spending increases AND Tax cuts simultaneously, will be out of office the next time around. Giuliani is a tumor but his “Truth isn’t Truth” is an accurate portayal of the world today.

I’m glad to hear this, Ireland is at breaking point.
