Service creates a bot for companies, making them eligible to register .bot domain names.
Amazon’s .bot top level domain name has been open for registrations since December, but registering them hasn’t been easy. Amazon has restricted registrations to companies and people that have an existing bot built on one of a handful of bot platforms.
Encirca, a registrar that specializes in difficult-to-register domain names, has partnered with one of those bot platforms to help companies register .bot domains. The offering is aimed squarely at trademark holders and was announced in conjunction with the International Trademark Association (INTA) meeting in Seattle this week.
Encirca is working with Pandorabots to essentially create and register a bot for the companies, making them eligible to register a .bot domain name. The total fee is $200, including the $75 registration fee EnCirca charges for .bot domain names.
