Current owners want to sell the forum and user database this week.
DNForum, which was once the top forum for domain name investors, is up for sale again. The owners hope to find a buyer this week.
The site comes with a database of 535,000 users. Offers will be accepted only via email to sales (at) dnforum.com.
While a popular site in its heydey, it started to slip as domainers turned their attention to other media as well as competing forum NamePros.com. It took another hit after its owner, Adam Dicker, was embroiled in scandal. The site even went down for many months.
The site was then purchased by George Verdugo and Kevin Faler but apparently, that’s not working out as intended.
It looks like the most popular conversations on the site right now are about cryptocurrencies, not domain names.
Database is old, and outdated, many domainers are savvy enough to hit the unsubscribe, or block buttons to most spam these days.
I would advise nobody to do business with anyone related to Adam Dicker.
I told George I’m interested, but will only participate in bidding if it’s in a transparent marketplace like Sedo or NameJet or SnapNames where other bidders are verified and can be tracked down in case of shadiness. He said they will only take bids via e-mail… so there ya have it… transparency 😉
I guess that means it’s more of an offer scenario and auction.
DNFORUM is dead, and will never come back, It is a negative brand in domaining now. Namepros is killing it, and you can spend a million dollars in marketing to a small niche, it won’t resolve into dollars for you.
In order for a forum to be successful in needs users providing content, nobody is prepared to do that, except yourself.
Adam Dicker never sold the site. Him and George Verdugo are running it.
This theory always made sense about DNFORUM, bring it back to it’s hey day glory, and Adam Dicker rises from the ashes like a Pheenix to save us all.
To bad both companies mentioned are now pretty much out of business.
I am guessing Georgie boy wasn’t going to take what was owed lying down that quicky.
Funny, one of the people owned the most money Frank S made 1 tweet, and he was paid.
So much for new owner “assurances” …. The Net Never Forgets
The Database is worth nothing, i actually still have a copy of it and i can tell you its 90% fake user and spam accounts, i tried cleaning the list and by the looks of it there are only about 5-8k real accounts. The domain is a toxic brand. So all in all its worth nothing.
Worthless, I dont know why all these people give a pass to all of Dickers cronies. I dont care who it is..Dont care how many nice articles are written about them either. Its all a bunch of crap, wake up people. Birds of a feather
