Dust off your Japanese and French.
ICANN has selected the location for two of its meetings taking place in 2019.
ICANN 64 will take place in Kobe, Japan in March 2019 and ICANN 66 will be in Montreal in November 2019. The non-profit has not announced a location for ICANN 65 (a policy forum) to take place in June 2019.
People in North American will soon have a handful of conferences just a short flight away. ICANN 61 will be in San Juan, Puerto Rico in March 2018 and ICANN 62 will take place in Panama City, Panama in June 2018. Both of these locations were previously selected but delayed due to concerns about Zika.
I don’t think the level of Zika-carrying mosquitos has changed, but the buzz about it has.
The full calendar of meetings is available here.
Jean Guillon says
Andrew, you are about to face a diplomatic situation here: Canadians don’t speak French 🙂
Andrew Allemann says
Isn’t Montreal the second-largest French speaking city in the world, though?
John Berryhill says
I believe it is one of those things like the residents of London claiming to speak English.
Bill Sweetman says
Montreal is a wonderful, vibrant city to visit (I lived there for many years) and, as Jean noted, you can get by just fine in English. Be sure to visit the historic Old Montreal district; it is a must-see.
