The domain name hasn’t been seized or transferred.
Sometime today UDRPSearch.com started forwarding to ravi.lahoti.com, a page that includes information about a lawsuit against Ravi Lahoti of California.
The lawsuit makes a number of allegations against Ravi Lahoti and domain names in his possession. The suit alleges conversion, breach of fiduciary duty, breach of bailment and declaratory relief.
I’ve read the lawsuit and its allegations. It seems like a big mess.
Without commenting on the lawsuit itself, I do want to clarify one thing because a couple of people have reached out to me asking what’s going on.
Ravi Lahoti, the defendant in the suit, is the brother of UDRPSearch.com owner David Lahoti. UDRPSearch.com has not been transferred and is not connected to this case.
Although I imagine the point of forwarding the domain was to attract attention to the case, I hope that the useful service at UDRPSearch.com is restored soon. I also hope the alleged mess described in the lawsuit can be resolved soon.
Exhibit A – the list of domains – is empty. That’d be the most interesting part of this lawsuit to read.
Here it is: https://domainnamewire.com/wp-content/lahoti.pdf
Thanks.
It looks like Ravi Lahoti’s brother is still upset with him for stealing dmv .org.
Paragraph 15: Plaintiff did not know at the time that Mr. Lahoti had frozen one brother out of their joint domain name business, and would be sued by another brother in January 2014 for stealing the domain name and corresponding Web site.
Lardas is claiming conversion and breach of fiduciary duty. Ravi Lahoti is in big trouble. Hopefully Ravi pays punitive damages.
Several naughty domains there… 😉
Sad to see brothers go down this path.
Leave UDRPSearch up with a link (if need be).
It sounds like Mr Lardas entered into the most stupidest agreement ever. If the Defendent was left to pay for the renewals of the domain names with no financial help from Mr Lardas, who exactly then is the owner of the domain names? It’s easy to see the confusion regarding ownership, or at least, registration rights to the names.
If I owned 20 domains using GoDaddy services and for some reason I didn’t have the money to pay for the renewals, who would then own them?
After GoDaddy repossesses my domains, if 6 months later I come up with the renewal money, would GoDaddy give me back those domains?
With this down. An alternative https://www.dndisputes.com/statistics/
Sad that such an amazingly useful service as UDRPsearch.com is no longer available. Would have been so much more practical to include a link to the service on the redirect law suit page. Unless the original service is again made available very soon, I fear the site will permanently lose all traffic as users will become accustomed to getting their information elsewhere.
