There are lots of options. What is working best for you?
With pay-per-click revenue continuing to disintegrate on most domain names, one of the primary objectives of a parked domain name is to make it clear that the domain is for sale and make it easy for a potential buyer to make contact.
I’ve tried a handful of parked page solutions over the years, but I’m considering new options. So I’m curious: what is working best for you?
To me, the ideal landing page solution has
- A clean, clear message
- Simple form
- Filters out confused visitors who don’t mean to inquire about buying the domain
- Captures metadata about the submitter, such as their IP address
- Makes it easy to handle leads
What are people using? Are you happy with it?

Much as I would LIKE to put a “This Domain is For Sale” it then means that you are laying yourself open to that being included in a UDRP, even if the UDRP is not deserved . Plus of course, as I believe one of the “top” domainer’s said, he always works the other way around and tries to put them off buying. . The ONLY Buyers you REALLY want are those who really NEED / WANT your domain as they are the ones who will pay the big money ,not the well if its cheap i’ll buy it ones.
Unless you don’t need to make the sale, making it hard to contact you is a horrible idea.
Not hard to contact me/us but not making it explicitly clear it is for sale.
Is this true that having ‘for sale’ pages makes you more vulnerable to UDRP filings as compared to having nothing? In what way would that be so?
It really depends. I wouldn’t worry about listing a domain for sale unless it’s an obvious trademark. You have to take some risks.
Thanks.
Sure, if you’ve got trademark risk, you’ve got that risk with or without lander so far as I understand. I don’t see how lander increases that risk.
But I believe OP is implying something more general…that there is inherent risk to using ‘for sale’ pages for some reason. I’ve never heard that before and am unclear how such a risk would arise.
OP is clearly a novice who spends far too much time socializing with like-minded beginners on NamePros, et al. His comments are utterly nonsensical and certainly NOT borne out by the facts. Anyone who willfully peddles “confusing similar” trademark risks for a living, deserves whatever they get.
Absent that, adopting a business model that “plays hard to get” by pretending *Not* to want to sell domains that are, in fact, actively for sale is just DUMB …like, as in, Donald Trump Dumb! 🙂
If you have the domain name first and some company develops a product or service using the name you registered 5 years earlier – too bad for them. They can either buy it or lose the traffic.
As an end user and not a domainer, my domains point to a blank page with a link to my facebook and instagram account.
With no other information, I get people offering to buy some of my domains by messaging me through facebook.
A good sales page should provide at the very least a way to contact you.
It would be beneficial to indicate that you are open to offers, and I would recommend a way to cross promote everything else you have, ideally with similar domains highlighted.
I built my own website for the purpose of creating ‘for sale’ pages, among other reasons.
We have been gradually moving all of our domains to Efty.com. You can use their stock landing pages (of which there are many), or you use your own image for a landing page. Plus you can easily add a logo to the lander if you wish. Example: PrivateJetTravel.com
Have you actually generated leads… made any sales with them?
Yes. We have sold five names via Efty for almost $11K. We receive several inquiries per month.
Efty as well. See http://www.pcan.com
That’s a nice looking for sale page. Like the Payoneer logo too.
I too use efty’s marketplace.
Its simple to use and the monthly fee is lower than what I was paying for web hosting.
Efty as well, example here: http://www.bizzybee.com/
Uniregistry Market stock landing pages. Haven’t been convinced that Efty is worth the money with what i can already do for free on Uni
Robert – Do you know if they have a page that shows all their for sale landing pages on can choose?
You don’t pay commissions on Efty based sales. Is that enough saving?
No commissions on Uni – just the ones you give them to broker
You do pay a fee if the transaction goes through them (as opposed to Escrow.com), however.
Well someone is paying the fee on escrow too – the only real difference is that on Uni escrow, you can’t choose to have buyers pay the fee, whereas you can on escrow.com
I like Voodoo.com — with the FOR SALE Banner at the top.
Like this one: BuildMusclesToday.com
My experience outlines nice sale pages are mainly good for the domain owner ego, an email is often enough when someone is interested by a domain name. This is the reason why most domain sales are initiated by a simple WHOIS listing. The main case where a nice landing page may help, is for brandable domains where a nice logo can make a difference, Many examples at Catchy.com
Do you have any stats to back up that people are more likely to initiate an inquiry from looking at a Whois record compared to submitting a form on the parked page?
I have my own exclusive or copyright website, Domains Feast with direct links to Sedo user or mobile-friendly offer pages (not parked or landing pages) and also to take account of three important points as follows:
1. Simplicity or At Ease (direct clicks to domain offer pages)
2. Complete Security by using Sedo own free fast Transfer & Premium Escrow Service
3. Total Privacy or Confidential (No Buyer Disclosure by Sedo i.e. email or phone details as with Efty)
Ah , so you must sell 3 letter .com for $2k ?.
I like Undeveloped landing pages lately and use them quite a bit. Here is an example: http://FreeLogosMaker.com
I also like DomainManage.com landing pages … http://CarFinancer.co.uk
Marius – I’m glad you posted about Undeveloped.com — I knew there was another one I wanted to give a try… Moving that to the TOP of MY “To DO” List… (smile)

To maintain or improve Google rank, build a business out of the domain name with real products or services. One of the products may be the domain name with a “buy it now” price. Put real content in the product descriptions. Obviously, do a trademark search and apply for trademark protection if the domain is worth anything.
I sell mini-skirts on http://blackmini.ca. It allows me to apply for trademark protection and I can sell the whole business at a premium.
If I am not interested in selling the domain, I don’t list a “buy it now” price. Even the most generic domain names are vulnerable to UDRPs, absent a trademark registration, if it is a category killer domain name.
Currently, 99% of my 1,000 domain names have a BIN landing page on Uniregistry.com’s platform featuring generally high, take-it-or-leave-it prices (e.g., http://NoMatterWhat.com). I’ve sold only 3 domain names this way so far in 2017, but one was a $14,488 one that sold just this week. That sale has made my renewals feasible for this year.
Wow! Congrats on the sale.
Logan .. Does your NoMatterWhat.com landing page go to their marketplace and escrow is handles by uniregistry? Do they charge a % to process it all? Do you have all your names setup this way or do they have other for sale templates where emails come directly to you?
I use efty or uni landing page.
You mean your nameshore.com is an efty service?
I’ve been using Efty for a while now because I can customize the landing pages like I want and change the text as well as add logos. Plus I love the fact that you can build a marketplace using Efty with a few clicks and track the stats closely using Google Analytics, which gives an in depth look into traffic that other platforms I’ve used in the past don’t provide.
Another main reason why I can’t use Efty is these phone numbers in the contact box for which I am not able to make calls due to my total deafness, only mobile texts or emails. Hence it is much better for me to have Sedo to act on my behalf instead with direct links to their domain offer pages in my own website Domains Feast but also viewing Sedo domain parking statistics which are just as good!
At Efty you can choose whether or not to display your contact details on the landing page. It’s all customizable.
Oh that’s interesting so I will look into this but what’s about Tough Domains as no mention here? Also my own website is copyright with additional Google Search Images for each domain whilst Efty marketplaces are not and Payoneer Escrow Service is not free unlike Sedo own free premium Escrow Service.
Why you would not accept my comment just because of my total deafness that’s totally unfair and discriminatory!
??? See above for your comment. No discrimination here.
Okay but for once it did disappear & then back so much appreciated & thanks. I hope you did visit my own website with some good .com domains for that price via Sedo of course.
It was just caught in the spam filter. I approved it as soon as I saw it.
I looked into using efty because of your article.
However, in the near future, I plan to only use sedo as my escrow service.
And, I have one going thru escrow, domains this week as an alternative. .
For years, escrow ,com was my primary choice. But, since they are going overboard with the new verification process, I going to avoid them. I refuse to bring them new customers who they make jump through hoops to verify them. Novice endusers are already suspicious of online transactions involving 4 and 5 figures.
I almost lost a sale this month for $5k. After 8 days of driving my buyer crazy I moved it to sedo and it was done in less than 5 days.
Escrow.com is also becoming an issue due to poor/slow customer service. Have been waiting several days now for them to simply switch a transaction type from ‘standard shipping’ to a domain transaction. And that’s about the 3rd issue we’ve had with this modest purchase. Pretty disappointing.
Yes that’s interesting I sold Brexit.News via Sedo last week & the whole transaction including Sedo Escrow was completed in just 3 days!
What if you want to use the domain?
It should be possible to have a company setup and manage domains, so they are real websites, and sell real products.
Peter
I think it is much easier to use or have copyright websites for domains rather than a company setup which would involve extensive paperwork, registration, etc!
What are you talking about? There is no such thing as copyright for domain names. And trademark registration for matching domain names requires use in commerce in most jurisdictions.
UDRP panelists don’t respect trademarks from countries were you are not actually doing business.
Sorry I mean copyright with my own portfolio website Domains Feast not domains because my unique idea is to use direct links to Sedo domain offer pages (not parked or landing pages) as well as Google Search Images for every domain.
Whatever I use I am definitely not going to use these “exit intent” spammy popup windows like on this web site. It never used to have one. Now it does. And it makes me not want to visit anymore.
You’ll only see the newsletter pop up once every 21 days. Get over it.
You may want to try Empage.me to get good looking domain sale landing pages. No need to register, easy setup in a few clicks, bulk edit and free.
